How to create an email sequence
HubSpot’s email sequence tool is user-friendly and helps you streamline your email marketing efforts.
1. Scroll to the HubSpot menu where you see the Automation section and click on Sequences.

2. Once you're in the Sequences dashboard, click the Create Sequence button.
You'll be prompted to name your sequence. Choose a clear and descriptive name that reflects the goal of your sequence.

3. In the left panel, choose Start from Scratch or select a pre-designed sequence template. In the sequence editor at the top of the screen, click the edit pencil icon and enter a name for your sequence.

4. If you selected Start from scratch, click Automated Email under Step 1.

5. Press Create Template.

6. Create your new template.
Use HubSpot’s personalization tokens to insert contact-specific information such as the recipient's name, company, or any custom property you have set up in your CRM. You can also add properties like CTAs (Call-to-Action), links, and even images to make your emails more compelling.
7. Click Save Template once you’re happy with the content of your email and press the blue Add button to create a follow-up sequence.

8. Repeat the process to add multiple emails to your sequence.
You can choose to either start a new thread or reply to the previous sequence email.

9. Add follow-up emails with a specific delay between them.
This is important to avoid spamming your contacts and to create a comfortable cadence. Press the blue "X business days" to set the delay (time gap) between the emails. For example:
- Email 1: Initial email (sent immediately).
- Email 2: Follow-up email (sent 2 days after the first one).
- Email 3: Final email (sent 4 days after the second one).
10. Make edits and reorder steps in sequences.
To reorder the steps in the sequence, click the Actions dropdown menu in the top right corner of the step and select "Move up" or "Move down."
To edit an automated email, click the Actions dropdown menu for the Automated Email step in the sequence and select "Edit email." You can then modify the email body and save it as a new template.
