Blueprint | Uploading Monthly Note in WP

After Blueprint sends over a Google Doc or Word Doc with the content of its next Monthly Note, reference the Website section of this Google Doc for the steps on how to build out the Monthly Note. The steps are also included below:


Since we’re often on a time crunch for getting this package out, it’s preferred to start working on each component separately as they become available, rather than wait to start until all three are ready.

Log into Blueprint website (https://blueprintip.com/admin)

Asset Allocation 

Click Monthly Asset Allocation from left-hand menu

Click Add New button near top

Enter page title as this: [full month name] [YYYY] Asset Allocation Update

Yoast SEO section:

  • Clear SEO title field and replace with what’s in Word doc
  • Enter slug from Word doc 
  • Enter meta description from Word doc

Upload grid image into the Asset Allocation Updates > YYYY sub-folder

  • Enter alt text from Word doc

Enter URL for asset allocation PDF that’s noted in the Word doc

Enter the information for each asset allocation section (do not include the label for the asset class – e.g., don’t include “U.S. Equities” or “U.S. Treasuries” – only include the non-bold text)

Make sure the Settings Panel is displaying, specifically the “Monthly Asset Allocation Update” tab: 

  • Update the “Publish” date to the date noted in the Word doc
  • Expand section called “Featured image for this Monthly Asset Allocation”
  • Click set featured image box
  • Select the grid image already uploaded (do not upload a second grid image)
  • Click blue set featured image button

Click Schedule in top right



Co-Founders’ Note

Click Co-Founders’ Monthly Notes from left-hand menu

Click Add New button near top

Enter page title as this: [full month name] [YYYY] 

Yoast SEO section:

  • Clear SEO title field and replace with what’s in Word doc
  • Enter slug from Word doc 
  • Enter meta description from Word doc

Upload tease image into the Co-Founders Notes > YYYY sub-folder

  • Enter alt text from Word doc

Copy/paste these fields from the info in the Word doc:

  • Headline Part 1
  • Headline Part 2
  • Intro quote (include any punctuation except do not include quotation marks)
  • Quote attribution (do not include a dash — just the person’s name)

Copy the intro section (everything after the quote and before the “Asset-Level Overview” section):

  • Ctrl+Shift+V to paste as plain text into the CFN Intro Copy field
  • Clean up paragraph breaks
  • Clean up any special formatting (bolding, bullets, italics, links, etc.)
  • Check doc and comments for any images that need to be inserted and, if so, be sure to upload and use alt text from Word doc
    • Edit image size using the pencil icon to be an appropriate dimension size (usually Large size), and either center align it or have text wrap around the right or left
    • Center and bold the image header
    • For any sourcing under images/charts, put in the caption area of the image
    • Put a hard return before the header and after the sourcing
  • Bold the last paragraph/sentence

Copy/paste any intro sourcing (including the “Sourcing for this section:” verbiage)

Copy the Equities & Real Estate section (no headers, just the copy):

  • Ctrl+Shift+V to paste as plain text into the Equities & Real Estate field
  • Clean up paragraph breaks
  • Clean up any special formatting (bolding, bullets, italics, links, etc.)

Copy the Fixed Income & Alternatives section (no headers, just the copy):

  • Ctrl+Shift+V to paste as plain text into the Fixed Income & Real Estate field
  • Clean up paragraph breaks
  • Clean up any special formatting (bolding, bullets, italics, links, etc.)

Copy/paste any Asset-Level sourcing (including the “Sourcing for this section:” verbiage)

For each Catalyst, copy the full paragraph (including the bold words):

  • Ctrl+Shift+V to paste as plain text into the corresponding Catalyst 1, Catalyst 2, and Catalyst 3 fields
  • Clean up any special formatting (bolding, bullets, italics, links, etc.)

Copy/paste any Catalysts sourcing (including the “Sourcing for this section:” verbiage)

Copy/paste these fields from the info in the Word doc:

  • Subhead Part 1
  • Subhead Part 2
  • Quote 2 (include any punctuation except do not include quotation marks)
  • Quote 2 Attribution (do not include a dash — just the person’s name)

Copy the remaining copy (everything after the quote and before the “Best”/signatures):

  • Ctrl+Shift+V to paste as plain text into the CFN Closing Copy field
  • Clean up paragraph breaks
  • Clean up any special formatting (bolding, bullets, italics, links, etc.)
    • If the closing section has sub-headers, put in Heading 3 style (NOT bold)
  • Check doc and comments for any images that need to be inserted and, if so, be sure to upload and use alt text from Word doc
    • Edit image size using the pencil icon to be an appropriate dimension size (usually Large size), and either center align it or have text wrap around the right or left
    • Center and bold the image header
    • For any sourcing under images/charts, put in the caption area of the image
    • Put a hard return before the header and after the sourcing

Copy/paste any Closing Section sourcing (including the “Sourcing for this section:” verbiage)

In the ESG Summary and Asset Allocation fields:

  • Type in the same month/year as you’re working on for the Co-Founders’ Note (e.g., “December 2022,” which will filter the results and help you find and select the corresponding ESG Summary and Asset Allocation posts
